Following the fire incident at Jeddah Train Station, Metal Yapı Group was appointed as part of a fast-track roof recovery project aimed at restoring the station to operation within a highly constrained timeframe. The project scope included the removal of the existing damaged roof and the construction of a new roof system incorporating a standing seam roof with skylights. Metal Yapı Group’s scope focused on the delivery of the bullnose perimeter detailing, a diamond-shaped aluminum suspended ceiling system, and integrated aluminum ribs, providing architectural definition and seamless integration with the primary roof structure. Completed within an approximately eight-month construction period, the project benefited from Metal Yapı Group’s strong site installation capability, agile execution approach, and rapid decision-making on site. Modular and standardized ceiling components enabled fast installation while maintaining consistent quality and alignment with the station’s original architectural character. The Jeddah Train Station Roof Recovery Project demonstrates Metal Yapı Group’s design capacity, engineering expertise, and installation engineering capability, developed through close collaboration with Foster + Partners. The project reflects Metal Yapı’s ability to translate architectural intent into engineered, buildable solutions and to deliver them efficiently on site under demanding time and performance constraints.
